TRACK RULES
Entering The Track
Enter only when signaled to do so by event safety personnel. Stay to the left side of the track through Turn 1, and it is safe to move onto the racing line.
Exiting The Track
Indicate you intend to leave the track and enter the pits by extending your arm out the left window bent up at a 90-degree angle with a closed fist. This indication should be displayed at least through the entire last turn before the pit entrance.
If you can not get your arm out the window because it doesn’t open enough, a window net interferes, or your car is right-hand drive, then use your left turn signal to indicate you are going to exit. Pay attention to ensure the car behind you knows what you are doing.
Never signal a track exit, then change your mind and stay on the track!
Passing
Passing freely and safely maximizes the fun for all participants. Pay attention to the Passing Flag. If you see it and there is no one in front of you, there is probably someone in position to pass you. If a car has caught you (especially in the corners), let that car by. This may require a cooperative effort where you point the other car by (according to the rules of your run group) and lift off the throttle enough to let the car pass. This is a thoughtful courtesy. Stay on your line so you are predictable.
Rules for your run group are described here. Pass only in designated passing areas and only when safe. If you are unable to pass, pull into the hot pit lane and ask the safety workers to find a gap in the lap traffic.
Point-By
Extend your arm straight out of the left window. If you can not get your arm out the window because it doesn’t open enough, a window net interferes, or your car is right-hand drive, then use your right turn signal to indicate you are allowing the other car to pass to your left.
Pit Lane
Speed limit is 5mph.
Windows
All functioning windows must be down/open while driving on the track.
Wheels Off The Track
• One wheel off track - driver may proceed.
• Two wheels off track - driver must come into hot pit lane for car/wheel check. They may proceed back on track when indicated by the safety worker.
• Four wheels off the track - driver must return to hot pit lane for car and wheel safety check and to discuss the incident with the safety worker and/or coaches. Driver may proceed back on track when indicated by the safety worker. If you go four wheels off pull well off the track and turn around to view track traffic before pulling back onto the track. Drive offline for a distance to let the gravel and dirt fall out of the bottom of your car,.
Spins & Off-Track Incidents
• First occurrence - the driver will be called into the pits to discuss the incident and receive a warning. Once safety crew has discussed with the driver they may proceed back onto the track when indicated.
• Second occurrence - the driver will be called into the pits to discuss the incident and receive a second warning. Once safety crew has discussed with the driver they may proceed onto the track when indicated.
• Third occurrence - the driver will be called into the pits to discuss the incident and asked to retire for the day. The driver will not be allowed to participate for the remainder of the day.
Fluids On The Track
If a car spills oil or any fluid on the track and oil dry is required for cleanup, the driver will be charged for the oil dry. If you know you are leaking something stay off the racing line.
